The course aims to cover a range of current topics in evolutionary and quantitative genetics, with two main aims: to expose students to important, open questions in the field and to help them learn how to read research papers carefully and critically. Topics to be covered this year include the determinants of protein evolution, processes shaping patterns of genome variation and evolution, constraints on the evolution of novelties, and the genetics and evolution of complex traits
