Title: MLL in development and disease
Abstract: Cell fate decisions are controlled by specific transcription factors acting in concert with chromatin cofactors. Dysregulation of chromatin remodeling enzymes, including MLL family histone methyltransferases, is one of the key characteristics in human malignancies. Our study focuses on how transcription factors, non-coding DNA regulatory regions and chromatin modulating enzymes cooperate to establish and maintain cell fate commitment and how disruption of this process leads to disease development. The mechanistic studies provide critical insights into designing novel target-based therapeutic strategies in cancer treatment and regenerative medicine.
