Earlier this year, Meehan Crist, writer in residence, delivered a Winter Lecture for the London Review of Books at the British Museum. The annual Winter Lectures bring "the LRB’s lively, radical, witty and stimulating agenda to the British Museum," and past speakers include such luminaries as Judith Bulter, Frank Kermode, Colm Tóibín, and Hilary Mantel.
Crist's lecture, "Is It Okay to Have Kids?" explores the ethics of childbearing in a time of climate change, as well as global population control, ecofascism, and fossil fuel propaganda. It appeared in the March 5, 2020 print issue of the London Review of Books, and is now available in both audio and print formats online.
