Previous Institution: Ramapo College

Full Research Description:

Originally from Bulgaria, I completed my B.S. in Computer Science - Bioinformatics at Ramapo College of NJ. At Ramapo, I studied the association of cis-regulatory g-quadruplex motifs with splice sites in the human genome. During my undergraduate studies, I also conducted computational biology research at Boyce Thompson Institute, Cornell University for the Genome Open-source Breeding Informatics Initiative, and at Weill Cornell Medicine in Dr. Iman Hajirasouliha's lab. Moving forward, I am interested in the application of statistical models and machine learning and deep learning methods in biomedical problems.
